RIP Tommy Gemmell
RIP to a Lisbon Lion.

Always remember when he booted Helmut Haller up the arse:

A full back who scored in two European Cup finals.

Re: RIP Tommy Gemmell
I remember him in the World Club Championship game creeping round the blind side if the ref and kicking a dago in the guts. Not nice but very entertaining

In his day was the equal of any left back in Britain, a sad reflection on how Scottish football has declined

Immortalised as one the lions of Lisbon

Re: RIP Tommy Gemmell
Preston were a bit stupid letting the football museum go to Manchester.

What other reason is there for visiting Preston as a tourist?

Apparently the ball is now in the National Football Museum in Manchester.
Haller's balls were donated to science.

Has Haller given the hat trick ball back to Hurst yet?

A top footballer and gent. That Celtic side was incredible. The golden age of Scottish football.

FC that was the game when we had only 8 fit men. I was at that game. 10 players on the field Jack Charlton hobbling on the left wing with a broken to and the scotch won by the odd goal in five.

Anyone remember Jim Baxter taking the absolute piss by doing keepy uppys during a Scotland England game?

Bremner was a cunt, fellow Scot Dave McKay almost killed him once

Re: RIP Tommy Gemmell
In the Phoenix film he still looks like he could be a handful. As was said of Mick McManus "The kind of bloke who'd drag you out into a pub carpark and smash your face on a car bonnet."

I hated them as a kid, but now I miss those Scottish greats, Law, Mackay, Bremmner, Lorimer, Baxter, Gilzean, Johnstone, Crerand, and dozens of others. The Saturday Home International against them was a highlight of the year.

He scored with a belter of a long range shot in the European Cup Final didn't he?
